Novak Djokovic has reached out to another top athlete following his emotional victory at the Olympics.
Novak Djokovic playfully mentioned that he is thinking about pursuing a career in cycling after he finishes dominating the world of tennis. He jokingly called out the current UCI world No.1 Tadej Pogacar. Djokovic, who is often seen as the best tennis player ever, gave a friendly warning to his cycling rival.
This summer, Pogacar showed once again that he is the top cyclist in the world by winning his third Tour de France with UCI WorldTeam UAE Team Emirates.
Djokovic clinched his first Olympic gold medal in Paris after five attempts. The 37-year-old won the match against Carlos Alcaraz 7-6 7-6 at Roland Garros, bringing glory to Serbia.
Alcaraz gained a satisfying win after beating Djokovic in straight sets at Wimbledon. The 21-year-old Spaniard will be aiming for his third Grand Slam title of 2024 at the US Open, following his victories at the French Open and Wimbledon.
Djokovic will also play in New York to defend his 24th major title, which he won by defeating Daniil Medvedev 6-3 7-6 6-3.
He chose not to participate in the Canadian Open and defend his Cincinnati Open title – two Masters 1000 events – following his success at the 2024 Olympics.

However, Djokovic has started getting ready for the US Open by sharing a video of himself riding a training bike on Instagram to get his fans excited. He was in a forest when the video was taken, and he spoke directly to Pogacar while aggressively challenging his training partners.
