The Dallas Cowboys’ top wide receiver, CeeDee Lamb, is currently waiting for a contract extension.
Cowboys’ owner and general manager Jerry Jones mentioned that they had positive discussions about a new deal, suggesting that Lamb might not hold out for much longer.
Jones expressed optimism about reaching an agreement with Lamb during his holdout and believes they will come to a resolution soon. “I want to make it clear that I am not trying to disregard our fans or CeeDee, but we are in a good position and we are having positive discussions,” Jones stated.
“You might ask, ‘Why do you keep talking. Why not take action? ‘ Like in any situation, it requires both parties to be on the same page at the same time. ” Lamb is currently scheduled to participate in the 2024 season under the fifth-year rookie option, which will pay him just under $18 million.
The Cowboys and Lamb have been in talks about a contract extension for some time now, but reports suggest that they still have not reached an agreement on financial terms.
According to reports, the Cowboys have offered Lamb a contract that would make him the second highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL. Currently, Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings holds the title of the highest-paid WR, earning $35 million a year with $110 million guaranteed.

It is uncertain whether CeeDee Lamb is aiming to match Jefferson’s contract or exceed it. Lamb had a standout season, leading the league with 135 catches and achieving a career-high of 1,749 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns.
He was selected for his third consecutive Pro Bowl and received First-team All-Pro honors last season.
