“Alcaraz possesses perhaps the best touch in the game right now, and even Novak Djokovic understands he must bring his top game, even his very best.” Says John Mcenroe
John McEnroe has shared his opinion on the possibility of a Wimbledon final replay featuring Novak Djokovic and current champion Carlos Alcaraz.
Novak Djokovic has been warned ahead of a potential Wimbledon final showdown with Carlos Alcaraz. Alcaraz, who triumphed over Djokovic in a memorable five-set match last year, could face him again this Sunday if they both advance past their semi-final matches.
Novak Djokovic, who advanced to the quarter-finals due to Alex de Minaur’s injury, will face surprise Italian contender Lorenzo Musetti, while Carlos Alcaraz will confront the formidable Daniil Medvedev. Tennis legend John McEnroe believes Alcaraz has improved significantly since last year, suggesting Djokovic will need to deliver his absolute best to secure an eighth Wimbledon title and 25th Grand Slam victory.
McEnroe stated on the BBC, “Alcaraz possesses perhaps the best touch in the game right now, and even Novak Djokovic understands he must bring his top game, even his very best.”
“That Wimbledon final last year was one of the most remarkable matches I’ve ever witnessed. Novak had the opportunity to win, but Alcaraz managed to elevate his game and defeat the greatest player of all time”, he added.
Regardless of the result, McEnroe, aged 65, admires Alcaraz as a breath of fresh air and regrets not embodying more of the 21-year-old’s positive attitude in his own youth. McEnroe remarked, “He’s always smiling, no matter the score. Watching Carlos Alcaraz, he’s incredible.”
“I’m not sure how he manages it, but it’s never too late for an old man like me to learn a thing or two. This guy can do it all, and he does it with flair.”
“He engages the crowd so well, they love him. We’re fortunate to have Carlos Alcaraz,” McEnroe concluded.

I love Carlos💓💗💖💝
