Nick Kyrgios, working as a commentator for the BBC during Wimbledon, openly expressed his dislike for Novak Djokovic saying ‘I don’t like you’ while discussing his relationship with the Serbian player during the live commentary of Cameron Norrie vs Jack Draper match.
They initially had a strong dislike for each other, but Kyrgios defended Djokovic when he faced deportation from Australia in 2021. Since then, they have developed a close friendship and were supposed to train together at Wimbledon on Wednesday, but rain prevented them from doing so.
Kyrgios playfully teased his newfound friend by suggesting that Djokovic deliberately allowed Carlos Alcaraz to defeat him in the thrilling five-set Wimbledon final of 2023.
He wishes the 37-year-old would have let him have the same luck when they faced off in the 2021 Wimbledon final.
“I still don’t like you Novak if you’re listening. You gave Carlos one one year but you didn’t give me one,” Kyrgios said.
“It is still one of the best matches I’ve watched. One of the only ones from start to finish.”
