Even though the 2024 NFL season is only one week old, it is already clear that the New York Giants may see significant changes in 2025.

After all, quarterback Daniel Jones threw two interceptions in the game, one of which was recovered for a touchdown by Minnesota Vikings edge rusher Andrew Van-Ginkle, embarrassing the Giants 28-6 on their home turf.

For New York, the season began in a sadly predictable manner if it is to be a referendum on Daniel Jones and his future as the quarterback of the Giants.

Jones, the sixth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, has only completed two touchdown passes in the seven games since agreeing to a $160 million, four-year contract. In contrast, former Giants running back Saquon Barkley scored three touchdowns from scrimmage in his Philadelphia Eagles debut against the Green Bay Packers.

In 2025, the New York Giants may consider replacing Daniel Jones.

If the Giants don’t improve immediately, there may be major offseason changes this year, possibly even the dismissal of head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen.

The person in charge of the Giants’ personnel department next springtime will most likely be looking to add Jones’ replacement at the top of the 2025 NFL Draft.

In the most recent mock draft from CBS Sports, which features the Giants picking USC quarterback Miller Moss at No. 3 overall, that is precisely what happens.

Chris Trapasso of CBS says, “Moss lands with another franchise likely (see: moving toward clearly) in need of a quarterback upgrade.” “He has the tools in his pocket to succeed in the NFL.

Emerging from the shadow of 2024 No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams, Moss has started for the Trojans as their starting quarterback through two weeks. This season, he has completed 72.7 percent of his passes for 607 yards and two touchdowns.

Moss might be the next quarterback in line to try to get the most out of Malik Nabers and New York’s receiving group if the Giants want to move on from Jones in the upcoming campaign.
