Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz are the top three seeds at the US Open 2024 and will be among the favorites to win the tournament. Djokovic will enter Flushing Meadows as the defending champion, having won a record-equaling 24th Grand Slam in the 2023 edition.
Alcaraz is expected to be a top contender for the title in New York, following his impressive wins at Roland Garros and SW-19 at only 21 years old. Jannik Sinner, the top seed and World No. 1, will aim to perform well in the tournament, as he has never made it past the quarter-final stage in New York before.
In the first round of the 2024 US Open, the second seed will face off against Radu Albot from Moldova. The Serb could potentially play against Laslo Djere in the second round. While many expect the World No.2 to come out on top, Djere managed to win the first two sets against Djokovic at the US Open last year.
Novak Djokovic could play against Alexei Popyrin, who recently won the Canadian Open, in the third round. They have faced each other twice in Grand Slams this year, with Djokovic winning both times.
Even though Popyrin put up a good fight in those matches, Djokovic emerged victorious. In the fourth round, Djokovic might go up against Ben Shelton, a crowd favorite. Andrey Rublev and Alexander Zverev, seeded sixth and fourth respectively, could be Djokovic’s opponents in the quarter and semi-finals.
Despite the tough competition, Djokovic has a good record against both players, with 5 wins and 1 loss against Rublev and 8 wins and 4 losses against Zverev. In the final, Djokovic could face either Sinner or Alcaraz for the championship title.

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are in the same part of the draw, so only one of them can reach the final. They might play against each other in the semi-final. Alcaraz will start by playing against Australian Qualifier Li Tu and then might face former Wimbledon semi-finalist Denis Shapovalov in the next round.
The third seed will have a tough match in the third round when he might face Jack Draper. Even though Alcaraz is ahead 2-1 in their previous matches, Draper recently defeated him at the Queen’s Club Championships.
Alcaraz could also compete against Sebastian Korda in the fourth round, who is in good form and has the support of the crowd. Either Hubert Hurkacz or Alex de Minaur could be Alcaraz’s opponents in the quarter-finals. Both players have had fitness issues lately, with De Minaur returning from a hip injury at Wimbledon and Hurkacz recovering from surgery for a meniscus tear and retiring from his Cincinnati semifinal against Frances Tiafoe.
In the first round of the US Open, Jannik Sinner will face McKenzie McDonald.
If he wins, his next opponent in the second round could be Alex Michelsen. If he makes it to the third round, he might have a tough match against Nicolas Jarry, who beat him in their only previous meeting in 2019.

The World No.1 could play against another American in the 2024 US Open, as the 14th-seeded Tommy Paul might be his opponent in the fourth round. The Quarter-final will be a tough match for the top seed, as he could face either Daniil Medvedev or Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Even though the Italian has a losing record against Medvedev and Tsitsipas, Sinner has recently beaten Medvedev in the Australian Open final. Plus, Tsitsipas has never advanced past the third round at the US Open. Sinner will then have to beat Alcaraz and Djokovic in the last two matches to win his second Major title.
