Eva Marie Saint will be 100 years old on the Fourth of July! It seems fitting that the Hollywood icon will mark this big occasion on a national holiday, but she wants to celebrate with just her family.

The Oscar winner will mark her 100th birthday by celebrating with four generations of her family, who are coming together from different parts of the country for the special event.

“I can’t wait to celebrate my 100th birthday in Los Angeles with my beloved family.
Family members from Los Angeles, Chicago, Santa Barbara, and San Francisco will come together for the special occasion,” she said to People.

Even though Eva is 100 years old, she says she doesn’t feel like it at all. She mentioned that she still goes for walks outside, watches baseball (especially the Los Angeles Dodgers), and spends time with her loved ones. She believes she has a good life.

Eva became famous for her role in the movie On the Waterfront, where she acted alongside Marlon Brando. She won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in her first film.

Marlon Brando also won Best Actor, the film won Best Picture, and Elia Kazan won Best Director. The movie received critical acclaim and was a commercial success, winning eight out of 12 Oscar nominations. Today, it is regarded as one of the best films ever made.

However, acting did not stop for the centenarian after that. She acted alongside Cary Grant in Alfred Hitchcock’s North by Northwest. She was famous for her great chemistry with Cary Grant, and she mentioned about their big kiss scene, “I was hoping I wouldn’t step on his feet.”

Eva also starred with Paul Newman in Exodus and appeared in movies with Elizabeth Taylor, making her one of the last icons of the Golden Age of Hollywood.

After a short time on TV, she came back to movies in 1986, acting with Tom Hanks in Nothing in Common. She officially retired from acting at 90 years old after her role in Winter’s Tale with Colin Farrell in 2014.
Eva wed Jeffrey Hayden, a director, writer, and producer, in 1951.

They remained together until Hayden passed away at the age of 90 in 2016.
Hayden had a hand in creating Knight Rider and Magnum P.I. They had two children, Darrell and Laurette, and three grandchildren together.

She mentioned that her husband played a crucial role when she won her Oscar, as she was very pregnant at that time – just two days away from having their son. Jeffrey assisted her in getting up to receive the award, and she jokingly exclaimed, “I’m so thrilled I might give birth right here.”
