Lil Wayne is the most popular artist from Cash Money without a doubt. Juvenile has great songs, and Birdman followed along, but Weezy is the main focus when it comes to the label’s history. His not being at the recent Cash Money reunion was very noticeable.

What made it even worse was that Wayne was already at the Essence Festival, where the reunion happened. He chose not to join the celebration of 30 years of Cash Money on stage.Instead, he waited and did his own performance after the other artists finished.

On July 7th, Lil Wayne went on Instagram Live to share his perspective on the situation. Instead of apologizing or giving a reason for his absence, he told a story.

The rapper recounted how someone texted him, criticizing him for not showing up at the event where he had many fans waiting for him.

Weezy didn’t reject the idea that he could have gone, but he didn’t really consider it seriously. Instead, he joked around with the person who reached out to him. “I was like, ‘What are you talking about?,” the rapper said with a smile.

Lil Wayne obviously wasn’t keen on looking back at the past, but that doesn’t mean he has any bad feelings towards the other artists on the label. While he didn’t specifically mention Juvenile, Mannie Fresh, or B.G. by name, he did give a general shout out to “all the artists that performed” at the Essence Festival.

Lil Wayne has consistently claimed he doesn’t know anything about the rumored Hot Boys album. The Hot Boys group included Lil Wayne, Juvenile, B.G., and Turk, and there have been rumors circulating for a while about a new project. But according to Lil Wayne, he has no idea about any of it.

In a recent interview on the Not Just Football podcast in June, the rapper stated that he wasn’t part of it at all. “Oh, I had no clue,” he joked. Being a Cash Money fan right now is tough.
