Even though there were some problems in the past, fans still love Will Smith, which helps make his movies successful.

Studios are now more likely to cancel movies that they believe are not meeting their expectations at the box office. This summer, movies like The Fall Guy, The Bikeriders, and Horizon: An American Saga — Chapter 1 were all affected by limited time in theaters.

However, there are also movies like Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and Bad Boys: Ride or Die that were able to succeed.
The fourth Bad Boys movie made almost $1 million in the United States on its 33rd day in theaters, helping the action-comedy series reach a major global box office achievement.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die has earned $179 million in the United States and a total of $361 million worldwide. This success has helped the long-standing series reach over $1.2 billion in global box office revenue, almost 30 years after it first started in 1995.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die is currently the second-highest-grossing movie in the series both domestically and worldwide, following behind the third film, Bad Boys for Life. Bad Boys for Life, released shortly before the pandemic in 2020, is considered a soft reboot due to the significant gap in time since the second movie.

The movie finished its time in theaters with just over $200 million in the United States and nearly $425 million globally, even though it was made with a budget of $90 million. Bad Boys: Ride or Die had a production cost of $100 million and aims to reach $200 million in the U.S.and $400 million worldwide by the end of its run.

It is still being shown in more than 2,500 theaters in the U.S., where it has been very popular. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the Belgian duo, directed both the third and fourth movies, which starred Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as Miami detectives.

Audiences have given both the third and fourth movies positive feedback. The Rotten Tomatoes scores for the third and fourth movies are 75% and 64%, respectively. However, the audience scores are incredibly high at 96% and 97%, showing that they are widely loved.

Even though Smith has faced some challenges recently, he is still a beloved star. The success of the fourth movie demonstrates that general audiences are not too concerned about serious issues like physical assault.

Smith made headlines when he attacked comedian Chris Rock at the Oscars a few years ago. This incident occurred just before he won a Best Actor Academy Award and was subsequently banned from the Academy for ten years.

The Bad Boys series started in 1995 with Michael Bay’s first movie, making more than $140 million worldwide. A second movie, also directed by Bay, came out in 2003.
Bad Boys II was made with a big budget of $130 million and earned over $270 million worldwide. You can see Bad Boys: Ride or Die in theaters, and keep an eye on Collider for more news.
