Nicki Minaj has expressed her gratitude to former US President Donald Trump for designating Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” due to the rising attacks and killings targeting Christian communities across the West African nation. In a heartfelt post on social media, Minaj wrote, “Reading this made me feel a deep sense of gratitude. We live in a country where we can freely worship God. No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion. We don’t have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other.”

Minaj commended Trump for taking the issue seriously, stating, “Numerous countries around the world are being affected by this horror, and it is dangerous to pretend we don’t notice. Thank you to The President & his team for taking this seriously. God bless every persecuted Christian. Let’s remember to lift them up in prayer.”
The US House Appropriations Committee described Nigeria as “the most dangerous nation on Earth to follow Christ,” citing the brutal killings, kidnappings, and attacks on Christians. Trump’s designation of Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern opens the door for Washington to impose targeted sanctions on individuals or institutions deemed complicit in such abuses.

US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz praised Minaj for using her platform to speak out against the persecution, stating, “We cannot allow this to continue. Every brother and sister in Christ must band together and say, ‘Enough!'” Trump has directed lawmakers to investigate the situation and report their findings .
