The Oklahoma Sooners continued their recruiting momentum on Monday by securing a commitment from four-star EDGE rusher Daniel Norman, their second addition of the day. His decision came just hours after linebacker Beau Jandreau also pledged to the Sooners.
Norman, a standout defensive end from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is rated as a four-star prospect by Rivals and a three-star by both On3 and 247Sports. Rivals lists him as the No. 69 player in Florida for the Class of 2026.
During his junior season, Norman tallied 31 tackles, seven sacks, and eight quarterback hurries, playing a key role in helping St. Thomas Aquinas secure the Florida 5A state championship. His high school is known for producing elite talent, including former OU standout and current Denver Bronco, Nik Bonitto.
Norman had received 25 offers from programs such as UCLA, Miami, and Colorado. His commitment to Oklahoma came just over a week after receiving an offer from the Sooners on June 12. In the time since, he took official visits to Colorado and South Florida, with earlier visits to UCLA and Miami.
His commitment comes as a boost to the Sooners’ 2026 class following the loss of four-star cornerback Danny Odem, who chose Nebraska earlier in the day. Oklahoma now has 13 commitments in its 2026 class, including six in just the past two weeks. Recent additions include quarterback Bowe Bentley, running back DeZephen Walker, offensive lineman Noah Best, kicker Trace Rudd, linebacker Beau Jandreau, and now Norman.
Prior to Norman’s pledge, 247Sports had Oklahoma’s 2026 class ranked No. 37 nationally. The Sooners will kick off their 2025 season on Saturday, August 30, against Illinois State.
