A new fan art shows Jason Momoa as Lobo in the upcoming DC Universe. Momoa is set to star in the upcoming movie Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. However, it seems like he will be taking on a new role in the DCU as the anti-hero Lobo in future movies.

In the fan art of the DC Universe, Momoa appears just like the comic book version of Lobo, wearing the character’s famous leather jacket with spikes. Momoa’s ability to embody Lobo’s punk rock style, his strong acting skills, and his intimidating physique all come together to make him a great choice to play Lobo in the DC Universe.

Momoa has wanted to play the character Lobo for a while now. A recent report says that Momoa is discussing the role of Lobo in James Gunn’s DC Universe. The report suggests that Momoa might leave his role as Aquaman to play Lobo in either Gunn’s Superman: Legacy or in a standalone movie about the character known as “Main Man” in the DC Universe.

Momoa won’t be the only one leaving Aquaman behind in the switch from the old DCEU to the new DC Universe. The Justice League cast is also not coming back as their characters for the new DC Universe.
Gunn recently chose David Corenswet to play Superman in the DC Universe, instead of sticking with Henry Cavill.

If Momoa takes on the role of Lobo, he would be like DC Universe’s version of Marvel’s Wolverine. Lobo was originally created to poke fun at anti-hero comic book characters such as the Punisher and Wolverine, and the DC character’s love for cigars is similar to Wolverine’s preferences.

Momoa portrayed a different version of Aquaman compared to the classic comic book hero, with a more violent, impulsive, and sarcastic personality that aligns more with Lobo. This makes Momoa a great fit to play Lobo in the DC Universe, transitioning to a new role within the DC Extended Universe.
