A man was taken into custody after he allegedly undressed in the women’s locker room of a Planet Fitness facility in North Carolina and would not leave, despite the possibility that a child was there.
A 38-year-old man with a beard reportedly caused quite a ruckus last Thursday at a Planet Fitness in Gastonia, North Carolina. Gastonia is a city of 80,000 people located about 30 minutes west of Charlotte. According to a woman inside the women’s locker room, Miller was “walking around, showing us his penis, and he won’t leave.” She reported this to 911.
She also reported the man’s claimed transgender identity to the dispatcher, saying, “It’s a man, but he says he identifies as a woman.” She restated that Miller was “literally naked,” and that he was “completely naked.”
According to other reports, Miller also persecuted a woman by requesting that she take a shower with him and give him body rubs. It’s unclear if this is the same woman who made the 911 call.
Regardless, Miller was taken into custody and lodged at the Gaston County jail. His sex is shown in jail records as “male.”
Miller faces a single felony charge of indecent exposure. A notable exception to the general rule in North Carolina is that indecent exposure is not considered a misdemeanor offense if it takes place “in the presence of any other person less than 16 years of age.” Put another way, it’s likely that a small child was present in the locker room when Miller allegedly exposed himself.
He is still being held under a $25,000 bond.
Another Planet Fitness member, Betty Brice, stated that she does not want men using the women’s locker rooms and restrooms at the gym. “I believe that a woman ought to be allowed to use the restroom without a man entering and identifying himself as transgender,” the woman stated.
Given that Planet Fitness allows its members to use the restrooms and showers that correspond to their “self-reported gender identity,” Brice might want to think about joining a different gym. One Alaskan woman lost her membership due to this policy after she discovered a man shaving in the women’s restroom at Planet Fitness last month.

The multinational company’s stock value might have dropped by hundreds of millions as a result. As previously reported by Blaze News, Planet Fitness’ stock value dropped $400 million in just one week and 13.59% in one month following the media attention surrounding the incident in Alaska.
A representative for the Gastonia location told WSOC-TV that staff members there acted right away to guarantee the other members’ safety and are still assisting the police. The spokesperson stated that harassment is not tolerated at this location.
