On Wednesday, numerous accidents on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and the Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway in Ogun State resulted in one reported death and eleven others escaping death.

PUNK According to Metro, there were ten people in the Lagos-Ibadan highway collision, two of whom were hurt and one person died.

Additionally, two people are said to have escaped death in the Abeokuta-Sagamu highway crash when their car skidded off the road due to a mechanical issue.

In a phone call with PUNCH Metro on Wednesday, Babatunde Akinbiyi, the spokesperson for the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, revealed this.

An IVECO truck with the number plate DED541XB, an IVECO tanker with the number plate RSH 319 XF, an unregistered DAF truck, an unregistered Mack containerized truck, and a Peugeot J5 bus with the number plate EPE 250 YD were among the five vehicles involved in the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway accident.

A spokesperson for TRACE revealed that drivers’ impatience and excessive speeding were the causes of the accident.

Traffic was created for other road users when the fuel tanker capsized and took up more space on the road.

Ten people and four vehicles were involved in the collision, according to Akinbiyi. Two of the victims were injured to differing degrees, and one victim passed away.

“The driver of the DAF truck lost control, drove too fast, and was impatient, according to an eyewitness who saw the accident.”

He also revealed that although family members recovered the body of the deceased victim, Federal Road Safety Corps personnel transported the injured victims to the closest hospital.

He continued, “The presumed dead body was taken care of by his relative, and two injured victims were rescued and taken to Famobis Hospital by FRSC.”

Meanwhile, it was reported that a mechanical issue with the vehicle caused it to skid off the road, resulting in the accident near the Kobape area.

There were two men involved in the accident, but no one was hurt. The driver stated that it was due to mechanical issues that caused the vehicle to lose control.
