The music mogul’s lawyer declared that Combs “will continue to fight every single day to clear his name” and denounced the searches on Monday as a “gross overuse of military-level force.”

Three people familiar with the situation told NBC News on Tuesday that during searches of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ properties in Miami and Los Angeles, federal agents discovered firearms.

Prior to his scheduled departure for a trip to the Bahamas, Homeland Security Investigations executed warrants out of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Monday and confiscated his phones in Miami.

A person familiar with the situation told NBC News that the music mogul is the target of multiple lawsuits filed against him in recent months, and he is also the subject of a federal criminal investigation.

According to the source, federal agents had conducted interviews with three women and a man in Manhattan regarding claims of sex trafficking, sexual assault, and the solicitation and distribution of illicit drugs and weapons.

What kind of guns were discovered and who owned them were not immediately apparent.

Combs’ lawyer Aaron Dyer called Monday’s searches “gross overuse of military-level force.” Dyer stated in his statement that neither Combs nor any of his family members had been arrested.

“The excessive use of force and hostility by the authorities, as well as the treatment of his employees and children, are unacceptable,” Dyer declared. Mr. Combs spoke with and assisted with authorities, but he was never placed under arrest.

Dyer stated that Combs “will continue to fight every single day to clear his name” and that he has not been found accountable for the accusations made against him. Combs is innocent.

After his former romantic partner, Cassie, filed a civil suit accusing him of years of physical and sexual abuse, Combs has been the target of multiple civil lawsuits since November. The New York Adult Survivors Act provided a one-year window for adult victims of sexual assault to file civil claims, regardless of the statute of limitations. Cassie, whose full name is Casandra Ventura, took advantage of this opportunity.

One day after she filed in New York, she and Combs reached a settlement. Combs has denied the charges, describing them as ridiculous and disrespectful.

Since then, Combs has been accused of sexually assaulting three more women, who have filed lawsuits in the Southern District of New York. When the alleged assaults occurred, two of them claimed to be teenagers.

Combs has described the sexual assault claims as “sickening” and denied each one.

A lawsuit was filed in February by a former employee of Combs’s who worked for him from September 2022 to November 2023. The lawsuit claimed that Combs had drugged, sexually harassed, and threatened the former employee for more than a year. Producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones claimed in his lawsuit to have audio and video proof of Combs, his employees, and others “engaging in serious illegal activity.”

Combs has refuted the accusations, and these cases are still pending.
